Prostate carcinoma (PCa) is the second most frequently diagnosed cancer in males all over the world and is a major healthcare concern associated with significant morbidity and mortality. The burden of PCa is estimated to grow to 1.7 million new cases and 499.000 new deaths by 2030 as a result of the growth and aging of the global population. 

Ultrasound elastography (USE) is a dynamic technique that uses ultrasound to estimate tissue stiffness by measuring the degree of distortion under the application of an external force. As cancerous tissue has greater stiffness than a benign lesion USE has been used to differentiate malignant from benign lesions.
