3D Endometrial-Myometrium Ultrasound for Mullerian Anomalies
Reduced the need for Invasive Procedures: 3D ultrasound is a non-invasive imaging technique, reducing the need for more invasive procedures like hysteroscopy or hysterosalpingography.
Specific Uterine Malformations Diagnosed by 3D Ultrasound:
-Septate Uterus: Differentiates between a partial and complete septum.
-Bicornuate Uterus: Provides detailed images of the degree of uterine division.
-Didelphic Uterus: Visualizes the presence of two separate uterine cavities.
-Arcuate Uterus: Helps in identifying subtle abnormalities in the uterine contour.
Preparation:
-7-11 years old: 24 ounces of water finished 45 minutes prior to exam time
-Over 12 years old: 32 ounces of water finished 45 minutes prior to exam time.
-Adults: You will need to have a full bladder for the procedure. You must drink between 4-6 cups of water, half an hour prior to the exam, and don’t empty your bladder until the end of the examination.
