Obstetric Doppler Ultrasound 1st Trimester
Preparation: If your pregnancy stage is within the 1st trimester (0 to13 weeks), you will need a full bladder for the procedure. You must drink between 4-6 cups of water, half an hour prior to the exam, and don’t empty your bladder until the end of the examination.
Note: Usually, the obstetric Doppler is not recommended during the first trimester. There are some conditions that are indicated, such as:
a) If the mother has a history of placental problems or pregnancy complications.
b) If the mother has high blood pressure or diabetes.
c) If the results of the first-trimester ultrasound are abnormal.
